Heroes of the Storm “the perfect esport”, according to new player

A new player of Blizzard’s MOBA Heroes of the Storm claims the game is “100% esports ready” and is surprised “there’s hardly any big organisations on board” in the game’s competitive scene.

The player, who goes by the name of “HotGodCod”, was shocked to discover there were hardly any high-level competitions for him to watch. “Every other major game is just starting up their leagues for the year, but I cannot find anything for Heroes of the Storm.”

“The game has so much potential – it’s fast action, relatively easy to understand and has a low entry barrier. Not only that, it has the backing of Activision Blizzard, one of the biggest game developers in the world.”

Blizzard’s Overwatch came out in 2016 with much more success with the Overwatch League rising to be one of the biggest franchised esports leagues in the world. However, HotGodCod is sad that the earlier-released Heroes of the Storm isn’t experiencing the same kind of success.

“Overwatch is a confusing mess to watch with weird spectator angles and so many things to focus on – it’s really hard to keep track. Heroes of the Storm is stripped-back MOBA gameplay at its finest. It’s an amazing game and I don’t know why there’s no leagues for it.”
